Eighth Annual Anna Memorial Golf TournamentFunds raised so far in Anna's Memory: $270,000
August 8, 2011Lakewood Oaks Golf Club, Lee's Summit, MO
On August 8, 2011, the Anna Memorial Golf Tournament will once again be held to raise funds for research on Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytocis (HLH) a rare and life-threatening disease that strikes very young children. As in previous years, 100% of the tournament’s proceeds will benefit the Histiocytosis Association of America (HAA) and specifically research on Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH). This event is a wonderful time for us to honor Anna and to remember her, but more importantly we focus on a cure for HLH. We want the children to have a better chance of survival. We hope you will be able to join us to honor Anna and Ella and to support a cure that will truly make a difference to so many. Please mark your calendars for the 9th Annual Anna Memorial Golf Tournament – Monday, August 8, 2011 (shotgun start 12:00 noon) which will be held at Lakewood Oaks Golf Club in Lee’s Summit, MO.

Team of Four Players $500 For more information or for Raffle donations please email annamemorial@yahoo.com We desperately want to do something that can help other families. HLH is considered an orphaned disease meaning it does not receive federal funding due to the disease's rarity. It may be a rare disease if you consider the statistics (approximately 1 in every 50,000 births), but someone has to be that one. We are committed to assisting the Histiocytosis Association of America in any way we can to find a cure for this disease and to find answers to what triggers it. After Anna died, we asked that donations be made in her memory to the Histiocytosis Association and in August 2003, right before what would have been Anna's first birthday, we held the first Anna Memorial Golf Tournament. It was a great success financially, but also incredibly soothing for our aching hearts. We were thrilled when we were able to raise even more money for the Histiocytosis Association when we held the Second Annual Anna Memorial Golf Tournament in August 2004. The tournament is now held each August to honor Anna's birthday (August 14). If you have not received an invitation in prior years, and would like to be added to our mailing list, please send us an email at annamemorial@yahoo.com Donations can also be made directly to the Histiocytosis
